It is very sad to read that Frank Opoku has passed away, I got to know Frank when he joined the Army and I was his training Corporal.

He was extremely polite and a very nice honest and honourable Rifleman; he just got on with his training didn't ever make a fuss he dealt with the trials  and challenges that training brings.  As we have all faced a challenge in training, so did Frank.  However, he just got up dusted himself off, kept moving forward and he passed out going to 3RGJ; some serious achievement that he was quite rightly proud of.

Frank, it was a priviledge to know you, you were a real nice genuine guy, take a rest now Fella.  You're in great company in the FRV  and no doubt you'll meet old friends and make new Rifleman friends from the other Battallions.  Till we meet again dear Mucker, good night and God Bless. To Frank's family please accept my sincere condolences.  If you could publish the date of his final celebration, please.

Billy Hughes

Frank was one of those Rfn you all wished was in your section- hard working, fit but the best bit funny! Banter always flew when Frank was about- a top Rfn what was a top Company - B Coy, 3 RGJ - Celle 1980's

Frank was a good guy in 3 RGJ. One of the best. I spent a few good moments on the athletics track with this chosen man. True athlete and olympic potential....God bless to his family in this difficult time....See you in the RV disbelief.gif
