 Sorry to hear about the  passing away of Mick. We were training sergeants at the depot in the 70`s and had some wonderful times.

Chosen Men,

I can, at this stage, confirm that the dress will be regimental ties.  Of whatever regiment adopted you.  Or whatever regiment you adopted.  Your choice.

All other detail will be posted next week.

Sid Bunn is still the point of contact at RHQ.  I will be helping where I can here in Kent.  I am I/C Bearer Party and will be conducting a briefing on the day for those of you who volunteer.

Kenny Ambrose/ Webspinners please let me know if it is OK to promulgate any further detail on the other boards as I myself don't check the 'In Memorium' board as often as I check the others - as I am worried that I will lose the will to live.

I am happy to send anything on to yourselves direct if you wish.

Finally...... I would add that I met Mick's sons David and Richard today and they, despite their grief, are strong and positive.  They are keen to ensure that some of Mick's pals from the Greenjackets get together and not only mourn his passing - but celebrate his life in the service of his country - for which he was awarded a DCM  and BEM.

We, as Greenjackets, will make it so.

My condolences to micks family at this sad time.I first met mick when i joined the battalion in shoeburyness in 1972.Although that was over 30 years ago,He left a lasting impression on me as a very fair and decent man.May he rest in peace.Gary.

Mick's funeral will take place on FRIDAY 6TH JUNE 2008 AT 1330HRS.

TO ALL CONCERNED:

With all due respect to all those who wish to attend the celebration of Mick the 'Rats' life, please be assured, I can contact the Hotel for a special rate under these circumstances and find cost & availability for those who wish to attend.
There are other Hotels/Guest Houses within the vicinity and I will be only too happy to investigate them for you if you can furnish me with your requirements. The start of the celebration will take place from the Hythe Imperial Hotel CT21 6AE @ 13.30hrs and from then on is as placed earlier.

with all due respect to jackie and family at this difficult time,i feel i must point out to all of micks old freinds that he had recently re-married to jackie 20 or so months ago, and that the mother of david,richard and karen is in fact val rattigan,micks wife of 40yrs.
I hope that this sits well with all concerned, but i think it needs to be said to save any confusion.
