Death of Bugler Arthur "Bogey" Knight KRRC, GJ, 2 RGJ
Permalink Closed

I have just been informed by his widow that Arthur passed away after a short illness on 25th April 2007. He was cremated at Barham, Kent Crematorium and his ashes scattered at sea by his Son. Since his death, his widow has had to move house a few times and it was only now that she came across my telephone number and rang to tell me the sad news and to ask that all his comrades be informed.

Arthur was a "character" within the Bn and a fine bugler. He took me under his wing and got me out of many scrapes (such as when I decided to clean the inside of my bugle with wire wool. Bugle Major Colin Green was not amused, but Arthur saved my skin!)

Arthur's widow has many happy memories of Bn life and would be happy to receive letters from old friends. Her address is: 6 Blean View Road, Greenhill, Herne Bay, Kent, CT6 7RD.

Rest in peace, Arthur.

So sorry to hear of the death of Bogey Knight. He was a top bloke, and a good bugler.  I'd not seen him for years and that is my loss. He'll be up there now stripping engines and getting bits left over like MFI furniture.  RIP Bogey.
